Photoshoot tonight !

Wow been a while since I've posted in here :0
get pumped cause tonight at 630 I'm shooting one of my good friends Danielle Rideout i have a hair stylist coming out and a MUA both my age but really good at what they do ! The hair stylist is Melle Van Ameron and she goes to the Barrie school of hair design, the MUA is Sarah Moorehouse and she will be attending Fanshaw or Ryerson .... not to sure which one, but she will be taking a makeup program ! trust tho she is really good for no having any formal training !

Any who I will be posting a behind the scenes video and pictures as well as 1 or 2 of the finals as soon as i finish them ! don't harass me for photos ! i hate that i get them done when i get them done !

....................so, get hyped already !

Time to change

So i figure if im going to do a confession i may as well do it publicly that way i hold onto the promises im going to make here today !

As i sit here listening to "For The Widows In Paradise, For The Fatherless In Ypsilanti" I promise right here right now

-I quit Smoking Weed PERIOD !
-I will make church my highest priority once again
-I will not hide my emotions, If im mad your gunna know, if im sad you'll know...
-Listen more talk less
-Put other peoples wants and needs in front of my own !
-After Reading week, I wont skip a single class no matter what !
-FRIENDS ! I will do whatever it takes to hold onto my best friends i the whole world, with out them nothing else matters ! (Nicoles', Brittany, Kaytlyn, GARTH, AARON, an the Jansmas!)
-Show more love than i know what to do with toward my AMAZING gf Catherine Rowe, she deserves so much more than i have to offer but she still stands by my side through good times and bad.

Georgian Optical Photoshoot

So Yesterday afternoon my whole photography class was was paired up with a group of optical students who each had a kit of 5 lenses and they came into our class acting as clients getting us to follow their direction to achieve whatever they wanted out of the photoshoot.
I am the group leader for my group called "corporate giants" :P anywho after a few hours of shooting we came to a close and our clients walked away happy, Ive spent a lot of my time in these past 24 hours photoshopping, eating and more photoshopping :P
Once our photos are handed in to our teacher, she and the optical prof sit down and decide who has the best shots and those photos get in things like posters, p.o.p., and websites for the companies used. so naturally i decided to photoshop the highest end companies :)
So ya heres a few of the final images without the logos embedded

Dry Spell

So these past few weeks has been a gigantic balancing act between my personal life and my school work , its been quite the epic battle to stay balanced too. With the massive amount of projects that are weighted more than a full sized elephant, my photography and photoshop skills have taken quite the hit, after cleaning up my hard drive the other day i came to realize that i haven't done a real photo shoot since Nov 14th 2008 ................. um 3 month dry spell :( mad bummer
but hopefully this trip to Lindsay ON that has been re-scheduled for this coming weekend will actually happen this time :) one can only hope !

Any who ! i just wanted to share with you all my thought on this "2012" bullshit and even before i watched these videos i felt the same.

Newmarket Park

So after a shoot in Lindsay falling through the roof due to my lack of financial independence, i decided a $6.75 trip to Newmarket park seemed to be more college friendly :P
So after a hour long bus ride I landed in good ol' newy , once i got there i hooked up with the Jansma brothers + 1 (The Hilarious and Eccentric) Ross! The whole point of the trip wasn't to even shoot photos it was to go to Nate's gf's house for a shindig... but knowing the Jansmas it was to be expected that a trip to the Kindsman park was in order. So we called a cab and 15min later we were at the skatey. First session of the night started in the bowl located right near the front doors. I wound up with these photos :

After we sessioned the bowl for a while I brought up the idea to session the new triangle thingy they had just built a few weeks back :

Although it doesn't look like a lot there were definite bangers being thrown down on this little triangle. And to my surprise the man of the hour decided to join the session Jay Brown, this guy is one of the most consistent street skaters I've seen in a very ling time. He zones into what ever trick he plans on doing and doesn't let up until its perfect or close enough to it with out getting hurt. He has made several trips to places like CALI , he rides for several companies including BTL (blue tile lounge). Despite his grungy (hobo) look this man has "stee" style has almost every trick in the book on lockk !

So After we left the park and eventually ended up at this party, things took a turn for the definite worst. The party started off small but some of the guys from the park showed up after a while and we were all having a blast until the girls started having a shit fit, seriously freaking out kicking people out and one girl slapped another girl-funny thing about that- when the girl slapped the other girl, i was sitting next to her and i got some kind of weird kickback..... a.k.a. i got slapped in the face for no reason at all :P hahaha worst shit of my life. anyways i managed to shoot a small video that i thought was pretty funny with my camera phone , so excuse the quality of the video :P

So that's about when we decided to leave and to sum up the rest of the night we went back to the Jansma house ate massive amounts of food , watched steph play h3 (halo 3) untill about 6:30am then we slept untill about 11 :P

New Friend :)

So after quietly creeping a photographer for quite some time now i decided to start talking to her :)
turns out shes basically the female version of me ! and we click better than most, her name is Skye Kalosza.
She has this unique style of boudoir portrait photography because she is also a model herself, so she has this natural ability to make unusually good looking women to take there clothes off and look absolutely comfortable about it.

We have made plans to get together and do our first joint shoot, working and assisting back and forth. The perfect team effort.

Re-edits !

Hey Everyone , I got really bored the other day and i decided to spend some time brushing up on my re-touching skills in photoshop CS3. I was actually quite pleased with how the edits turned out seeing as i haven't shot or edited photos in quite some time ! let me know what you think please cause I've really gotten no feedback on these!

I would just like to add that i don't want to receive any judgment about the corrections i made to these photos... so before you make or think comments i dont want to hear it :)

First Published Photos :)

So on December 20th of 2008 i got a sweet gig with a new nightclub in town that was opening up called "The Bank" now take my word for it, this place is super nice and super classy , the staff there are breathtaking ! see for yourself !
So after spending 2 hours of planning and 2 hours of shooting the interior of the place i took a well earned dinner break , when i came back people were starting to arrive. So i grabbed my trusty camera and starting shooting the crowd. Slowly but surely i realized that this high class bar was attracting a high class crowd ...

See what im saying this place is the place to be on a fri night if you know what im saying ;) ahha anyways for all you gear heads out there.... the photo of the staff at the top there was shot at 1/125th at f/8 and i used 2 umbrellas basically using a flat lighting setup. And the 2 photos just above were shot at 1/160th at f/8 with my on camera flash :P
